This course looks at the expansion of human capabilities as they play out in virtually all aspects of human existence. Since the growth of these connections is a mixed-bag of benefits and costs experienced differentially both within and between countries, these changes engender responses. Thus, for all of the dimensions of interconnection there is no simple linear path or a clear endpoint and, instead, there is a hard to predict series of phases that play out over time and that will continue indefinitely.
