EN 454: Literature for Children

Students will study the development of children’s literature from its beginning to the present. Works of various genres—the oral tradition, fantasy, realistic and historical fiction, poetry, and picture books—will be examined; authors and illustrators will be included, as well as academic articles which stress the importance of literature in the development of readers.
