HL 321: Crafting Health: Craft and Creative Media

The purpose of this course is for students to explore the application of traditional crafts and contemporary craft practices for healthcare and personal wellbeing. Students will acquire rudimentary competence with a wide variety of creative media; articulate how the repetitive or structured processes of craft activities make them ideal for community-based and personal health projects; blend creative expression with functional outcomes; apply creative media concepts to a range of case studies and hands-on activities; and, create and present a creative piece of their own design.
Prerequisites
