The Medieval Era was a time in which various cultural and religious traditions entered into transformative dialogue. The Philosophical discussions that spanned the Medieval era laid the foundations for religious and philosophical institutions that continue to shape contemporary life. This course examines these millennium long discussions, with a focus on questions about God, human life, and the experience of suffering, though other topics (such as free will, the nature of knowledge, political life, faith and reason, and the soul) may also be included.

The primary discipline of this course is Philosophy.
