Level
Undergraduate
Credits 3

Women have played an important role in medieval intellectual life that until the last two decades was largely overlooked. Although the canon has been slow to recognize the contributions of women writers, lately their voices have captivated the scholarly and non-scholarly world. This course examines the sacred and secular voices of medieval women, how they helped shape their world, and how their reemergence can be used to help shape ours. This course is writing focused.

The primary discipline of this course is English.
