Eating Disorders are complex mental health conditions that are often misunderstood. This introductory course will focus on the bio-psycho-social nature of eating disorders while providing students with a basic understanding of the causes and effects of eating disorders on individuals, their families, and the community. Students will become familiar with eating disorder diagnoses and assessment tools, and will examine a general overview of treatment approaches and modalities used by professionals in the treatment of eating disorders.
