Crime films reflect society’s impressions about the nature and extent of crime and victimization and the strengths, weaknesses, and overall functionality of the Criminal Justice System. This course utilizes film as a medium to communicate ideas concerning crime, victimization, and the Criminal Justice System by examining how victims, perpetrators, and witnesses are depicted in movies. In addition, this course examines how film represents, distorts, and/or filters crime and justice issues and the agents and agencies of the Criminal Justice System.
Prerequisites
